• Supervise the performance of suppliers, primarily through on-site evaluations, the implementation of the OASIS certification program, and utilization of Supplier portals/SharePoint.
• Strive to enhance and mitigate risks at high-risk suppliers by issuing corrective action requests, conducting on-site QMS/Product assessments or audits, performing data analysis, providing training, and engaging in other continuous improvement activities.
• Offer daily assistance for quality and product-related concerns.
• Evaluate quality data and recommend solutions for specific part/supplier quality issue resolution and corrective actions.
• Conduct research and provide explanations for root cause analysis and problem-solving (8D or similar) related to supplier causal analysis.
• Aid in developing corrective actions to address systemic process and product design issues for products supplied by vendors.
• Examine product requirements and metrics, providing recommendations to ensure suppliers can meet all criteria for work transfers and process change management, including Resourcing Gate and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) acceptance.
• Manage supplier quality challenges by overseeing monitoring/escalation processes and escape management.
• Initiate resolution and corrective actions for part-specific quality issues.
• Analyze quality data to uncover systemic problems and devise supplier-specific quality initiative strategies, employing essential proactive quality tools (e.g., PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow and Control Plans, SPC, etc.) and ensuring their execution.
• Travel domestically and internationally as required (30%).
• A University Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing, Materials Engineering, Chemical, or a related field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related discipline with at least 3 years of experience.
• 3 - 5 years of experience in supplier quality, process engineering, manufacturing engineering, or manufacturing operations.
• Proficient in interpreting technical drawings and specifications (GD&T).
• Familiarity with AS9100, AS9145, APQP, PPAP, and special processes.
• Experience with root cause analysis, corrective actions, and quality tools.
