This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Perform on-site evaluations of suppliers' quality management systems and process controls.
• Analyze quality systems, procedures, controls, performance metrics, and record management practices.
• Examine CAPA processes, methodologies for root cause investigations, and the efficacy of corrective actions.
• Review systems for traceability, inspection methods, testing programs, calibration protocols, and controls for nonconforming materials.
• Assess PFMEA processes, control plans, process flows, standard operating procedures, and practices related to change management.
• Validate the consistency between documented quality systems and their execution on the shop floor.
• Identify recurring defects, systemic quality risks, and weaknesses in controls.
• Evaluate audit programs, processes for management reviews, and the deployment of quality objectives.
• Assist in supplier development efforts and follow up on corrective actions.
• Offer evidence-based recommendations to enhance quality systems.
• Contribute quality insights to overall supplier readiness assessments and risk evaluations.
• Clearly communicate assessment results to suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Over 7 years of experience in Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Quality, Quality Systems, or Operational Excellence; over 10 years preferred.
• Profound knowledge of Quality Management Systems, CAPA, root cause analysis, containment strategies, and traceability processes.
• Experience in evaluating supplier quality systems and conducting assessments or audits of suppliers.
• Strong understanding of PFMEA, control plans, process controls, and preventive quality methodologies.
• Capability to differentiate between documented quality systems and actual operational performance.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100, or similar quality standards.
• Background in complex manufacturing settings.
• Excellent investigative, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%.
