This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Manage litigation cases involving the corporation and/or its insured in accordance with corporate guidelines and relevant professional responsibility regulations.
• Assess files as litigation evolves.
• Analyze cases and pursue settlements when appropriate.
• Supervise external counsel during the litigation of intricate claims.
• Review motions and briefs, providing constructive feedback.
• Conduct necessary legal research.
• Attend court hearings and trials as required.
• Keep updated on state laws and court rulings, evaluating their impact on policy provisions.
• Oversee complex litigation across various lines of business.
• Report to a senior manager in the litigation department.
• Preference for candidates with coverage experience.
• Proven experience in delivering customer-focused solutions, support, or services.
• Demonstrated ability in preparing civil pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
• Experience in deposing witnesses.
• Established litigation experience.
• Strong understanding of professional responsibility rules applicable to the jurisdiction of practice.
• Solid grasp of tort, contract, and insurance law.
• Must be admitted to the state bar in the state of residence.
• Juris Doctor degree is required.
• Must undergo relevant background checks.
• Required to sign a non-disclosure agreement concerning proprietary information, trade secrets, and inventions.
