Supervisor, Patient Access – Full-Time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Acquires, verifies, and inputs demographic, financial, and clinical data essential for the financial clearance of scheduled patient accounts.

• Trains, evaluates, and supervises registration personnel, utilizing positive reinforcement techniques and acknowledgment.

• Ensures adherence to all established policies and procedures by staff members.

• Aids in planning, organizing, and scheduling to meet daily expected volumes.

• Communicates any patient flow challenges to the relevant managing personnel.

• Confirms patient demographic and insurance details, making necessary edits.

• Clarifies consent for treatment, financial responsibilities, and HIPAA regulations to patients.

• Initiates performance management processes to address ongoing performance challenges.

• Makes every effort to collect outstanding patient account balances, generates end-of-day reports, guarantees accurate accounting of collected funds, and deposits those funds.

• Identifies and suggests process improvements aimed at enhancing overall performance and efficiency within the registration process.

• Establishes and consistently evaluates the effectiveness of internal controls and compliance with University policies and procedures.

• Monitors staff compliance with key business initiatives and motivates the team to achieve established Key Performance Indicators, including but not limited to patient satisfaction, co-pay, previous balance collections, registration processing time, and denials.

• Fosters a harmonious and cooperative working relationship with all healthcare team members.

• Complies with University and unit-level policies and procedures while safeguarding University assets.

• High School diploma or equivalent.

• A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.

• Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.

• Commitment to the core values of the University.

• Capability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate departmental operations.

• Ability to set department goals and objectives that align with the strategic plan.

• Proficient in planning, delegating, and/or supervising the work of others.

• Ability to lead, inspire, develop, and train team members.

• Proficiency in computer software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office).
