Superintendent, Heavy Civil Construction

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Oversee and coordinate heavy civil construction projects from initiation to completion.

• Supervise daily site operations and make knowledgeable decisions on the field.

• Create, sustain, and oversee project timelines.

• Inspire, motivate, and effectively assign tasks to field teams.

• Actively engage in coordination meetings with project stakeholders and management.

• Exhibit strong expertise in site documentation and adherence to regulatory compliance standards.

• Operate various types of earthmoving machinery.

• Proactively identify and address risks associated with safety, environmental factors, and project outcomes.

• Efficiently resolve issues in a fast-paced and dynamic work setting.

• Ensure all on-site activities meet Provincial safety and environmental regulations.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of progressive experience in heavy civil construction, ideally in a superintendent or senior field leadership capacity.

• Willingness and capability to work shift schedules and travel to or reside at remote job locations.

• Possession of a valid Class 5 driver’s license.

• Proficiency in professional communication and collaboration with supervisors, crew members, and project stakeholders.

• Strong leadership and crew coordination abilities in active construction settings.

• Comprehensive understanding of heavy equipment operations, sequencing, and site logistics.

• Familiarity with Provincial safety, environmental, and quality control regulations and standards.

• Capability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and schedules.

• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to make informed decisions in the field.
