This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Be available online for students, parents, and school staff from Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm in the school’s time zone.
• Regularly engage with parents, students, and fellow educators to create and update customized learning plans and schedules, provide feedback on student assignments, recommend instructional methods and strategies, monitor assignment completion, and validate student learning.
• Timely completion of grading, generation of progress reports, and organization of parent conferences as directed by the school.
• Facilitate the instructional program through synchronous and asynchronous web conferencing sessions (LiveLessons).
• Assist students and parents with alternative instructional methods and support with daily assignments and projects.
• Maintain current student records and data, including cumulative files, online student and family information, attendance tracking, and student logs.
• Collaborate with counselors and special education staff to ensure that the unique needs of each student are addressed, providing regular updates on student behaviors and classroom activities.
• Regularly check email to stay updated on upcoming assignments and important communications from Substitute Services.
• Conduct monthly meetings with an assigned Substitute Services supervisor via video conferencing software, whether on or off assignment.
• Engage in required professional development tailored to individual needs throughout the year.
• Keep active certifications current.
• Must be a highly qualified and certified elementary school teacher in Washington.
• Possessing multiple state certifications is an advantage.
• Capability to obtain certification in other states as needed.
• Ability to secure additional clearances as requested.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher is required.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong technological proficiency (experience with learning management systems, Microsoft Office, and Google Apps is preferred).
• Reliable, high-speed internet connection is essential.
• A computer equipped with Microsoft OS and Microsoft Office is mandatory (PC preferred).
• Must have a customer-focused approach and a proven history of teamwork.
• Cannot provide care for others during regular school hours while on assignment.
• Cannot hold another job during regular school hours while on assignment.
• Must complete the required orientation and training programs within 30 days of hire and at the start of each school year.
• Familiarity with IEP/504 plans and their implementation in a virtual environment is important.
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment requiring substantial flexibility, effective task prioritization, self-direction, and creativity.
• Excellent attention to detail along with strong time management and organizational skills.
