This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Holds primary responsibility for coordinating all technical activities within assigned projects.
• Engage with clients to cultivate new business opportunities and sustain existing relationships.
• Ensure that all assigned team members are aligning their efforts with other project contributors and meeting project requirements.
• Oversee work to ensure adherence to relevant codes and recognized engineering standards.
• Provide comprehensive leadership for the substation engineering sector by defining clear expectations, priorities, and performance metrics.
• Establish accountability for project execution, safety, quality, timelines, and budgets, while synchronizing team efforts with organizational and regulatory goals.
• Review and authorize engineering outputs to guarantee compliance with industry benchmarks, utility practices, safety standards, and regulatory codes.
• Mentor and develop a team of engineers, promoting a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
• Strategically plan, allocate, and manage engineering resources across projects and operational requirements to ensure efficient workload distribution and timely project completion.
• Ensure compliance with established engineering protocols, utility standards, safety practices, and quality management systems.
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert in one or more of the following fields: Substation Physical Design, Protection and Controls, Comms/SCADA.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required, ideally in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Over 10 years of experience in the Substation or Power Distribution sector.
• Proficient understanding of substation layouts, system protection, power system analysis, renewable energy generation, utility interconnections, and renewable project development.
• Knowledge of SCADA systems and communication protocols is essential.
• A Professional Engineer License is highly desirable.
• Must be willing to travel (10-30% of the time) for client meetings and project site assessments.
