This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Utilize civil and structural engineering principles along with project management expertise to execute project tasks from initiation to completion.
• Address construction challenges, particularly those related to reinforced concrete.
• Conduct structural design and analysis for substation facilities, equipment foundations, steel support structures, control buildings, cable trench systems, and rigid bus structures.
• Collaborate with electrical engineering teams on the physical layout of substations and the integration of equipment.
• Manage project budgets, timelines, and quality standards.
• Adhere to and enhance company design procedures as well as industry norms for power delivery projects.
• Assume responsibilities as the engineer of record as relevant experience accumulates.
• Review or assign the review of design documents and fabrication shop drawings associated with the project.
• Evaluate design codes and implement the appropriate design standards.
• Conduct value engineering assessments.
• Perform occasional site visits to monitor construction quality.
• Assist in proposal development with technical insights and scope creation.
• Provide occasional site visits, design evaluations, and proposal assistance.
• A Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution (mandatory).
• Over 5 years of progressive experience in structural engineering.
• Holding a Professional Engineer (PE) license in at least one U.S. state (or the capability to obtain one).
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as AutoCAD, STAAD.Pro, and Lpile is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Familiarity with relevant design codes, including ASCE 7, ACI, AISC, NESC, and IBC.
• Experience in the design and detailing of reinforced concrete and steel structures.
• Background in preparing construction documents and design calculations.
• Experience in reviewing drawings.
• Experience working with cross-disciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of U.S. structural-design compliance procedures.
