Subject Matter Expert, Data Science

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Revise an existing course or create a new one based on the needs of the area, incorporating program content and materials and/or delivery methods, as well as foundational knowledge, emerging practices, and changes within the discipline.

• Ensure that the course development aligns with the learning outcomes of the course and program.

• Demonstrate the ability to identify pertinent learning resources and content.

• Develop engaging learning activities, assignments, and reliable assessments of learning.

• Confirm that the course curriculum adheres to Excelsior’s principles of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI).

• Dedicate yourself to being available throughout an agreed-upon course development timeline and capable of meeting project deadlines.

• Attend weekly or bi-weekly meetings focused on course development.

• Work collaboratively with the course development team throughout the design process.

• Utilize the Excelsior University course shell as a framework for the course.

• Draft lectures, assignments, rubrics, and provide original content in an editable format.

⛳️ Requirements

• A doctorate degree is required, or a master's degree accompanied by substantial professional experience in the field, preferably in computer science or another relevant area, along with a background in Data Science to support the program and its courses.

• Proven significant industry and/or relevant experience in the field of Data Science.

• Teaching experience at a two- or four-year degree-granting institution in computer science or a related field is preferred.

• Familiarity with the development and execution of curriculum and/or training in computer science.
