📋 Description

• Assist in identifying and promoting organic growth opportunities within Barrick’s Rest of World portfolio, encompassing mine life extensions, internal growth projects, optimization studies, and strategic options.

• Aid in the technical and financial evaluation of growth prospects, including production profiles, capital and operating expenses, timelines, mining and processing assumptions, sensitivities, and essential value drivers.

• Create and manage project timelines, milestone plans, action trackers, and work plans to ensure systematic execution of studies and growth initiatives.

• Coordinate contributions from site, regional, technical, consultant, and contractor teams to ensure that deliverables, dependencies, risks, and necessary decisions are clearly understood and addressed.

• Develop executive-level reporting materials such as briefing notes, dashboards, presentations, progress updates, and decision-support documents.

• Travel to operations and project sites to facilitate studies, workshops, data collection, site assessments, and subsequent planning.

• Assist in establishing uniform project standards, planning tools, reporting templates, and project definition documents across the portfolio.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering, geology, business, finance, project management, or a related technical discipline.

• 3 to 10 years of relevant experience in mining, geology, business development, technical evaluation, project controls, consulting, investment analysis, data science, or corporate development.

• A strong academic background in mining, mine economics, mine planning, geology, or resource evaluation is preferred.

• Familiarity with mine planning, valuation, technical reports, NI 43-101 reporting, benchmarking, or financial modeling would be advantageous.

• Experience in developing and managing integrated schedules for complex, multidisciplinary projects.

• Ability to coordinate inputs from various contractors and stakeholders into a unified, consolidated plan.

• Proficiency in tracking site progress and managing both short-term (weekly) and long-term planning cycles.

• Experience in analyzing schedule performance, including variance analysis, critical path analysis, and recovery planning.

• Proven experience in preparing and presenting schedule reports, dashboards, and KPIs to project and senior stakeholders.

• Skilled in using data analysis tools, automation, AI applications, or data science methods to enhance workflows, analyze large datasets, gain insights, or support decision-making.

• A history of operating in fast-paced project environments, promoting planning discipline and consistency across teams.

• Strong analytical abilities with the capacity to interpret technical, financial, and operational data and identify key value drivers, risks, and opportunities.

• Familiarity with mining project fundamentals, including production profiles, capital and operating expenses, mine planning assumptions, processing constraints, and project economics.

• Excellent project coordination and planning skills, with the capability to manage schedules, milestones, action trackers, deliverables, and follow-ups across multiple workstreams.

• High level of data literacy, with the ability to structure, analyze, and interpret datasets; experience with Excel, Power BI, Python, AI tools, or other data science applications is a plus.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of preparing concise technical summaries, dashboards, and executive-level presentations.

• Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and initiative, with the ability to manage competing priorities, work independently, and effectively engage with site, regional, and corporate teams.
