This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Take charge of significant strategic and operational initiatives from start to finish — define the challenge, gather and analyze data, create recommendations, and oversee implementation with minimal guidance.
• Assist in pinpointing operational inefficiencies across all functions at Porter and formulate suggestions for business enhancement.
• Design, execute, and evaluate tests and experiments throughout our sales, marketing, and customer success channels.
• Dive deep into the business through data analysis — construct SQL queries against live data, develop models in spreadsheets, and extract insights that inform strategies related to growth, sales, and retention.
• Facilitate hiring as we expand — collaborate with the founders on workforce planning and candidate sourcing.
• Establish and refine operational processes, including data migrations for new shops and logistics such as terminal fulfillment.
• Assume responsibility for ongoing operational workstreams — including accounting reconciliation reporting, email deliverability analysis, and technical customer support — allowing the founding team to concentrate on other priorities.
• Present progress and recommendations succinctly and directly to the founders.
• 4–6 years of experience in management consulting, startup operations/BizOps, or a comparable analytical, high-ownership position.
• Proven ability to manage projects autonomously — capable of taking a vague problem, breaking it down, and driving it to completion without needing constant supervision.
• Proficient in SQL with a genuine aptitude for querying data to resolve your own inquiries.
• Advanced spreadsheet capabilities — able to build models, conduct analyses, and rigorously test numerical data.
• Comfortable with operational tools (e.g., HubSpot, Retool, Customer.io); not hesitant to engage with technical aspects.
• Strong analytical and structured problem-solving abilities, complemented by sound business acumen.
• Exceptional communicator capable of transforming complex tasks into clear, actionable recommendations.
• A proactive approach and a true sense of ownership — prefers to deliver and iterate rather than waiting for perfection.
• Thrives in a small-team, high-ownership startup setting.
• Genuine passion for developing products that cater to creative professionals and small enterprises.
• Flexible working hours and a remote-first policy.
• Flexible PTO.
• Paid parental leave.
• Comprehensive health, vision, and dental insurance.
• Work-from-home stipend.
• 401K.
