Strategic Sourcing Category Manager – IT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Oversees strategic sourcing efforts for intricate small to medium-sized projects

• Accountable for managing multiple concurrent competitive sourcing initiatives

• Facilitates competitive sourcing and negotiation activities

• Evaluates responses and conducts cost-benefit assessments

• Directs strategy formulation and oversees Request for Information, Proposal, and Quotation processes

• Fosters consensus among stakeholder teams to support sourcing strategies

• Maintains relationships with internal customers and stakeholders

• Advocates for a culture of lean/process excellence

• Carries out supplier business evaluations

• Engages suppliers and internal stakeholders to address service challenges

• Collaborates with the Finance department to confirm projected savings

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a clinical field

• 5 years of relevant experience in Supply Chain or a comparable blend of education and experience

• Proficient in strategic sourcing and complex contract negotiations

• Capable of conducting financial analyses

• Skilled in establishing and nurturing productive and positive working relationships with stakeholders and external suppliers

• Competent in addressing conflicts and challenging conventional perspectives

• Strong analytical abilities, including the capacity to develop and implement multiple complex analyses

• Exceptional organizational, planning, and project management skills

• Proficient in advanced Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

• Familiarity with an Enterprise Resource Planning application is preferred
