This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.
• Oversee the comprehensive delivery of intricate technical programs and projects — encompassing software development, platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, data and analytics, and system integrations — from inception to production release and stabilization.
• Serve as the essential link among cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Product, Design, Data, DevOps, Security, and Business Operations — harmonizing priorities, addressing obstacles, and sustaining delivery momentum.
• Design, implement, and continuously enhance project delivery processes and workflows tailored to the organization’s technical landscape — covering intake and scoping, sprint ceremonies, release coordination, dependency tracking, and post-delivery retrospectives.
• Create and manage project delivery artifacts: project charters, detailed plans and schedules, RACI matrices, risk registers, status dashboards, and decision logs; ensure they are always up-to-date and relevant for decision-making.
• Establish and oversee governance structures, including steering committees, technical review checkpoints, change control processes, and escalation paths that align with the complexity and risk profile of each project.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Product leadership to synchronize technical roadmaps with business priorities; facilitate discussions on trade-offs regarding scope, capacity, technical debt, and delivery sequencing.
• Proactively identify and manage risks, issues, and dependencies across workstreams; develop mitigation strategies and drive resolutions with clarity, urgency, and accountability.
• Take ownership of project financials — monitor budgets, actuals, and forecasts; report variances to leadership with context and corrective measures.
• Lead requirements clarification, technical scoping, and estimation sessions in collaboration with engineering leads, architects, and product managers; convert business needs into well-defined delivery scope.
• Coordinate cross-team release planning, sprint reviews, and PI planning ceremonies in agile and scaled agile environments; ensure visibility and management of dependencies among squads.
• Define and integrate delivery metrics and reporting frameworks — such as velocity, cycle time, delivery predictability, and risk exposure — to provide leadership with clear, real-time visibility across the portfolio.
• Direct change management and communication planning for technically complex initiatives; ensure that impacted teams and stakeholders are informed, prepared, and aligned throughout the delivery process.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, delivery playbooks, workflow standards, and tooling guidance; institutionalize best practices to enhance delivery quality beyond individual programs.
• Prepare and deliver concise, well-organized executive status updates, program reviews, and decision packages for senior technical and business leadership.
• 5+ years of experience in project or program management, consistently focusing on technical or technology-led initiatives, including software development, platform engineering, data, or cloud programs.
• Proven experience working within cross-functional technical teams — IT, Product, Design, Data, DevOps, Infrastructure, and Security — acting as an integrator who fosters alignment and delivery across organizational boundaries.
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement delivery processes and workflows from the ground up or in undefined environments; capable of assessing needs, building pragmatically, and iterating based on effectiveness.
• Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and technical delivery patterns — including CI/CD pipelines, sprint-based delivery, release trains, and environment management — sufficient to manage delivery risk and engage credibly with engineering teams.
• Practical experience with agile and hybrid delivery frameworks: Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, or equivalent; comfortable tailoring the right delivery model for the program rather than rigidly applying a single methodology.
• Proficient in core PM disciplines: scope management, scheduling, risk and issue management, dependency tracking, budget oversight, resource planning, and executive reporting.
• Familiarity with modern project and engineering tools: Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, Linear, Notion, or similar; capable of configuring and adapting tools to support team workflows and visibility for leadership.
• Exceptional facilitation and communication skills — adept at conducting complex multi-team workshops, leading technical planning sessions, and clearly presenting to both engineering teams and executive stakeholders.
• PMP, PRINCE2, PMI-ACP, or equivalent certification (or equivalent demonstrated experience); agile certifications are a plus.
• High degree of autonomy and self-direction — comfortable navigating ambiguous environments with minimal structural support; able to create structure where it currently does not exist.
• Competitive pay within the listed range + Bonus + Benefits + Equity.
• Temporary benefits package (applicable after 60 days of employment).
