This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversee and direct comprehensive fiber infrastructure projects, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to scope, and budget compliance.
• Manage projects associated with fiber infrastructure, such as outside plant (OSP) fiber construction, encompassing trenching, conduit installation, vaults, and splicing operations.
• Analyze and interpret intricate engineering drawings, including high-level designs (HLDs), low-level designs (LLDs), splice diagrams, redlines, and as-built drawings.
• Create and sustain detailed project plans that encompass schedules, milestones, budgets, and resource distribution.
• Execute deployment strategies using an iterative approach to facilitate seamless transitions and minimize interruptions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technical personnel, vendors, and stakeholders, to ensure successful project execution.
• Act as the primary liaison for all project-related communications, updates, and reporting.
• Track and address project risks and issues, escalating them as necessary to guarantee successful results.
• Promote the adoption of best practices in project management methodologies, balancing both waterfall and agile approaches based on project requirements.
• Ensure adherence to organizational policies, standards, and regulatory mandates.
• Provide mentorship and support to junior project managers and team members.
• Conduct site visits across utility and infrastructure locations as needed to assess project requirements, confirm field conditions, and ensure alignment between design specifications and actual site constraints. This role necessitates driving to job sites as part of regular project responsibilities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 5-7 years of experience managing intricate fiber infrastructure projects.
• Proven expertise in utility-grade OSP/ISP fiber construction, including both aerial and underground builds, as well as permitting procedures.
• Strong understanding of both waterfall and agile project management methodologies as they pertain to infrastructure deployments.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Capacity to function effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.
• Outstanding communication skills (verbal, written, and documentation).
• Proficient in managing multiple projects and assignments simultaneously.
• Self-motivated individual capable of rapidly learning new tools and familiarizing with new processes and technologies with minimal guidance.
• Extensive experience in creating spreadsheets, presentation materials, and project/process documentation.
• Strong observational and analytical skills, including the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate substantial amounts of information, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy, proficiency in tracking and reporting metrics, and managing risks.
