This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Develops and oversees key accounts within the designated territory, emphasizing utility-scale PV and BESS opportunities.
• Establishes and nurtures senior-level relationships with IPPs, EPCs, developers, utilities, and other critical decision-makers throughout the energy sector.
• Formulates effective long-term strategic plans to enhance market share and optimize sales revenue within the assigned territory.
• Implements a sophisticated solutions selling approach at the executive level to facilitate technology alignment and future roadmap development.
• Creates comprehensive short and long-term sales strategies to maximize business capture across the customer base.
• Constructs business cases and strategic plans to integrate market input, industry data, and customer requirements into internal business unit product and solution development processes.
• Actively manages and drives the monthly pipeline business forecast and addresses any issues to ensure successful and timely resolution.
• Executes and refines sales cycles, systems, and processes as necessary to enhance effectiveness and profitability.
• Collaborates with internal teams across sales, product management, engineering, and service departments to ensure alignment with technical requirements and customer needs.
• Maintains precise records of customer activities and pipeline within CRM systems, demonstrating thorough organizational discipline and direct management reporting.
• Participates in relevant trade shows, conferences, seminars, and industry events as required.
• Travels to Rocklin-based offices, trade shows, and customer meetings as needed.
• Visits SMA headquarters in Kassel, Germany for business unit alignment as necessary.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
• A bachelor's degree in a commercial or technical field is mandatory. A master's degree or post-graduate certification in renewable energy or a related area is preferred.
• 5-10 years of proven, successful sales or business development experience in advanced technology sectors, with a strong understanding of engineering principles.
• Experience in electrical systems, solar/PV design, or related domains is essential.
• Demonstrated ability to manage large, complex customers in cross-functional matrix environments, involving extensive design, qualification, and project sales cycles across multiple decision-makers.
• Familiarity with and prior engagement in the U.S. energy sector, including utilities, IPPs, and end users.
• Knowledge of utility grid operations, power plants, energy transmission and delivery, and associated services.
• An influential network of senior-level industry contacts is required, along with an understanding of market trends and industry drivers, and familiarity with comprehensive system technology roadmaps.
