This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Take charge of Descript’s top-of-funnel and growth strategies, overseeing everything from signups to paid conversions, ARR, and retention.
• Manage sales-led revenue forecasting, which includes pipeline modeling, win rates, sales capacity, and quota-driven ARR.
• Develop and sustain GTM financial models, encompassing ARR builds, channel performance, cohort analysis, and scenario modeling.
• Collaborate closely with the data team to establish metrics, enhance the data framework, and facilitate dependable self-service analytics for finance and GTM.
• Create and uphold dashboards for crucial GTM metrics such as channel signups, conversion rates, new ARR, retention, and payback periods.
• Discover growth opportunities across self-serve, product-led, and sales-assisted strategies, and evaluate their potential impact.
• Establish GTM goal-setting frameworks and monitor performance against established targets.
• Examine marketing and growth efficiency metrics, including ROI, CAC, payback periods, and funnel conversion rates.
• Assist with pricing, packaging, and monetization strategies by providing thorough financial analysis.
• Present insights to leadership in a clear, actionable manner, including executive and board materials when necessary.
• 7 to 10+ years of experience in strategic finance, GTM finance, growth analytics, or similar roles within SaaS companies.
• Strong intuition for GTM with practical experience in top-of-funnel analysis, ARR modeling, and revenue forecasting.
• Proficient in SQL with the capability to independently handle data from start to finish.
• Experience in supporting both B2B and B2C SaaS business models.
• Excellent financial modeling abilities, particularly in growth scenarios and funnel dynamics.
• Background in supporting monetization experiments, pricing strategies, and packaging development.
• Experience collaborating with data teams and managing large, imperfect datasets.
• Effective communicator capable of translating data into actionable insights and recommendations.
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity, demonstrating high ownership, and building initiatives from the ground up.
• Solid grasp of SaaS metrics across product-led growth (PLG) and sales-led approaches.
