This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malaysia.
• Develop and implement a new-business strategy for APAC: Create and deliver strategic territory and account plans across both established and emerging APAC markets, ensuring alignment with product priorities and quota goals.
• Facilitate large-scale customer acquisition: Take ownership of high-volume prospecting and engagement efforts to establish a robust rhythm of customer interactions (outreach, discovery, demos/briefings, follow-ups) and convert pipeline into closed-won revenue.
• Create and execute an APAC engagement model: Lead diagnostic, insight-driven discussions that align customer priorities with clear commercial value; customize narratives based on market maturity (e.g., established hubs versus emerging growth regions).
• Act as a strategic partner and brand ambassador: Represent the business to senior stakeholders, fostering trusted relationships with C-level executives and positioning the firm as a long-term partner throughout APAC.
• Strengthen relationships within existing accounts: Identify whitespace and expansion opportunities, collaborate with relationship managers, research leaders, and product specialists, and implement cross-sell strategies that enhance customer value and increase wallet share.
• Discover new growth adjacencies: Methodically identify new market segments, use cases, buying personas, and routes-to-market within high-growth APAC economies; test and scale repeatable strategies to unlock new revenue streams.
• Serve as a strategic partner to the global Energy business: Collaborate across S&P Global Energy divisions to identify cross-selling opportunities within the energy ecosystem.
• Transform research into engaging commercial narratives, integrate market feedback into the research agenda, and co-develop customer-facing briefings that drive demand.
• Oversee the complete sales cycle: Manage end-to-end execution from prospecting to negotiation and contracting, working closely with internal teams to finalize pricing/terms and advance deals to signature.
• Maintain a disciplined operating rhythm: Ensure rigorous pipeline management, forecasting, and activity tracking using system-based workflows (e.g., Salesforce.com) and engage in regular revenue/management reviews.
• Stay informed on APAC market dynamics: Keep abreast of local market and industry trends to anticipate customer needs and proactively identify new opportunities.
• 4+ years of successful experience in quota-carrying roles with a proven history in consultative selling and acquiring new customers.
• Demonstrated capability to develop and implement strategic sales plans, manage a pipeline, and execute a full-cycle sales process from prospecting to closing.
• Strong executive presence with the ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders/C-level leaders, complemented by excellent presentation, negotiation, and organizational skills.
• Commercial acumen and business insight: Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and convert customer challenges into value-driven proposals.
• Experience in selling complex data and/or technology solutions (or similarly sophisticated offerings that require insight-led, multi-stakeholder sales).
• Proficiency in disciplined sales workflows and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce.com) for pipeline management and forecasting.
• Fluency in English and Chinese (required); additional proficiency in other APAC languages is highly valued for market engagement and relationship building.
