This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• The Strategic Account Manager will oversee, develop, and expand the designated territory within the Region America Automotive sector.
• This position is responsible for managing assigned OEMs, strategic clients, markets, applications, relevant tiers, and identified global key accounts within the designated territory.
• Responsible for maintaining and building relationships.
• This role manages and ensures the appropriate handling of customer complaints and related activities.
• It will assist in defining account strategies, tactical plans, targets/deliverables, and implement and ensure the achievement of business objectives.
• Additionally, this role will guide the support team in executing the account strategy and resolving any challenges that arise.
• You will engage with and update regional and global automotive teams, as well as support functions on progress, challenges, and the evolving business landscape, while ensuring timely completion of deliverables.
• A minimum of a technical Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering, Chemistry, Polymer Science, or a related field) is required; an MBA is preferred.
• At least 5 years of sales experience in the automotive plastic industry, specifically working with OEMs and Tier suppliers in a technical sales or marketing role, ideally with acrylic, polycarbonate, or other clear materials.
• Must reside within a 2-hour drive of metropolitan Detroit, preferably within 1 hour.
• Experience in a cross-functional, heavily matrixed environment is essential, with the ability to interact with individuals from diverse levels and cultures.
• Self-motivation and the capability to take initiative, ownership, and influence/motivate others are crucial.
• Proficiency in computer applications, particularly in SAP, CRM, and Microsoft Office products, is required.
• Willingness to travel within the territory 50% or more of the time, with occasional travel outside the territory, including international trips.
