This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +3 more states.
• Supervise a two-member team alongside an Operations Driver (Wire Down Guard) to inspect distribution lines and equipment affected by hurricanes, ice, wind, or other factors.
• Ensure that teams are equipped with the necessary materials for restoration tasks and comprehend the relevant electrical distribution safety regulations.
• Recognize primary and secondary electrical assets, including poles, wires, services, insulators, transformers, fuses, reclosers, regulators, OCBs, and substations.
• Determine all essential repairs required for effective restoration.
• Generate comprehensive, client-specific damage assessments.
• Perform visual evaluations and document findings through photographs using a smartphone and/or tablet.
• Accurately enter and document field information utilizing mobile technology.
• Utilize GPS software and/or geospatial coordinates to navigate designated territories and client locations.
• Conduct precise field evaluations that reflect actual site conditions.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure consistent and accurate data gathering.
• Achieve production targets along with project deliverables and milestones.
• Adhere to safety protocols and engage in safety programs.
• Support power restoration efforts during natural disasters.
• Travel extensively and work extended hours on-site when deployed.
• A minimum of 10 years' experience in utility distribution or transmission systems (Journeyman Linemen, Engineers, or operations).
• At least 10+ years of lineman experience is required for inspections.
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with remote teams.
• Physical ability to work extended hours in challenging conditions.
• Proficiency in mobile technology.
• A smartphone equipped with an active data plan.
• Capability to cover travel and meal expenses until reimbursement is processed.
• Ability to identify electrical distribution facilities and necessary restoration tasks.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong situational awareness and map-reading abilities.
• Willingness to work varied schedules, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Ability to travel, including occasional overnight stays.
• Physical capability to navigate power line rights of way under diverse weather and terrain conditions.
