Store Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assess landlord data and site evaluations to design retail store layouts that maximize space while adhering to company design standards.

• Generate initial floor plans based on as-built documents, site surveys, and CAD files, ensuring compliance with store design standards and building regulations.

• Showcase floor plans to the internal store development team and integrate multi-departmental feedback.

• Supply consultants with finalized floor plan designs and necessary information for construction documentation.

• Examine construction documents for design fidelity and site-specific stipulations.

• Create comprehensive architectural construction document sets that align with applicable construction codes.

• Collaborate with the SME Engineer to ensure design intent is met.

• Liaise with city officials and permit expeditors throughout the plan review process.

• Consult with buyers to confirm store purchasing requirements.

• Formulate sublease and evacuation plans in accordance with fire safety regulations and corporate guidelines.

• Oversee project phases, timelines, updates, and alterations alongside cross-functional teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in chain retail store design and/or CAD design.

• Proficient in creating, reading, understanding, and interpreting construction documents and architectural as well as engineering drawings.

• Familiarity with relevant construction codes and accessibility design standards, including ADA, ANSI, and Title 24.

• Expertise in architectural design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and SketchUp.

• Competent in Microsoft Office applications.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent interpersonal abilities.

• Capability to think critically and address problems effectively.

• Effective time management skills to juggle multiple projects concurrently.

• Ability to initiate interaction, coordination, and collaboration with team members and business stakeholders.

• For remote or hybrid positions, maintain high engagement in virtual settings, including keeping the camera on during meetings.
