State Church Engagement Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain robust relationships with state conventions, associational mission strategists, churches, and ministers throughout the state.

• Collaborate with Relationship Management to ensure effective presence and services offered within the state.

• Act as a representative of GuideStone at SBC national, state, regional, and associational events to enhance visibility and create new opportunities.

• Proactively engage with potential and existing SBC churches and ministers to advocate for GuideStone products and services aimed at improving financial security and resilience (including retirement, wealth management, health plans and other coverages, property and casualty when available, institutional investing, and Mission:Dignity).

• Advocate for the SBC Church Retirement Plan and state convention-provided benefits for current members.

• Advise churches and ministers on best practices regarding compensation design and market-aligned salaries and benefits.

• Organize and deliver virtual and in-person training seminars within associations and regionally across the state (such as Navigating Ministerial Compensation, Intro to GuideStone Products & Services, Planning & Saving for Retirement, etc.).

• Promote Mission:Dignity by identifying potential recipients and donors.

• Engage prospective churches and members, guide them through the enrollment process, and connect them with Financial Consultants.

• Onboard potential candidates for Financial Foundations where applicable.

• Create and empower GuideStone advocates among both state regional consultants and associational mission strategists.

• Maintain precise and timely CRM records for all interactions and meetings with ministry partners.

• Swiftly enter leads for prospects, members, and churches exhibiting interest in GuideStone products and services.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree is required.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in SBC relations and/or financial services is strongly preferred.

• Membership at an SBC church is mandatory.

• Exceptional presentation abilities and a solid understanding of resources available for both in-person and virtual presentations.

• Comprehensive knowledge of the SBC Church Retirement Plan and familiarity with other GuideStone retirement plans, health and additional coverages, and property & casualty.

• Awareness of ministerial tax matters and church reporting obligations.

• Proficiency in MS Office and GuideStone system applications.

• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial data for all members and churches, in addition to GuideStone business-related information.

• Strong organizational and prioritization capabilities.

• Professional attire and grooming.

• Willingness to travel statewide, accounting for 40-50% of the annual work schedule.

• Proficient in MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and relevant GuideStone system applications.
