This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Develop the next generation of security solutions at Aegis.
• Transform extensive volumes of noisy security data into high-confidence detections.
• Contribute to and influence model development.
• Comprehend evolving behavioral patterns among users and organizations.
• Transition detection concepts from prototypes to dependable production systems.
• Assess system accuracy through evaluation systems and feedback mechanisms in production.
• Create systems that balance latency, precision, reliability, privacy, cost, and customer trust.
• Collaborate across detection systems, distributed infrastructure, product surfaces, and AI inference.
• Take ownership of the journey from raw data to visible security decisions for customers.
• Deliver code, grasp system functionalities, set technical direction, and build credibility through effective execution.
• Lead projects and engineers, manage segments of the technical roadmap, engage in hiring, and contribute to team operations as the scope expands.
• Staff-level technical expertise or equivalent experience in leading technically complex systems and teams.
• Proven experience in building production systems where false positives, correctness, reliability, or risk were critical.
• Capability to navigate between architecture and implementation.
• Comfort in making decisions with limited information and adapting them as new data arises.
• Skill in prioritizing multiple significant issues.
• Ability to convey technical decisions clearly in written form.
• Capacity to enhance the effectiveness of other engineers, regardless of formal management experience.
• Aspiration for considerably greater responsibility than currently available.
• Bonus: Background in security detection, fraud, abuse, adversarial systems, behavioral or anomaly detection, data-intensive distributed systems, production LLM decision-making, ML/AI evaluation systems and labeled datasets, enterprise security products or integrations, early product adoption, or early-stage engineering teams.
