Staff Solutions Architect – Fintech, Vertical SaaS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Oversee high-level architectural decisions for distributed systems and scalable microservices.

• Spearhead backend re-architecture projects to transform legacy systems into a cohesive and resilient ecosystem.

• Enhance overall system scalability, observability, and performance to accommodate global user expansion.

• Lead the design and performance optimization of MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Redis environments.

• Partner with engineering and product leadership to establish the long-term technical roadmap and strategy.

• Elevate engineering standards by mentoring senior engineers and instilling best practices for CI/CD, security, and maintainability.

• Develop and maintain complex integrations that consolidate various invoicing products into a unified, seamless experience.

⛳️ Requirements

• 10+ years of professional experience in software engineering, particularly in high-scale systems.

• 6+ years of advanced, hands-on experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript.

• Comprehensive experience in designing and scaling Microservices and Distributed Systems.

• In-depth knowledge of MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Redis, including advanced strategies for database optimization.

• Significant experience in building scalable REST APIs for web and mobile-first consumers.

• Proven track record of driving technical strategy and facilitating complex architectural discussions.

• Strong foundation in CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and backend performance optimization.

• Prior experience as a Staff Engineer, Principal Engineer, or Solutions Architect is preferred.

• Experience in Fintech, Invoicing, or Payments platforms within B2B SaaS environments is advantageous.

• Familiarity with distributed tracing, logging, monitoring, and contemporary security best practices is a plus.
