Staff Software Engineer – Test Automation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Remove reliance on manual QA by creating scalable automated testing solutions.

• Develop and enhance test architecture and tools that can scale across various services and teams.

• Create and execute automation for end-to-end, integration, and API testing.

• Take ownership of the test strategy across services—identify what to test, where to conduct tests, and how to optimize signal while reducing runtime.

• Enhance CI/CD confidence and ensure safe releases while boosting deployment speed.

• Mitigate regression risks by focusing on targeted, high-value test coverage instead of extensive test expansion.

• Ensure test reliability by proactively identifying, diagnosing, and resolving flaky or low-signal tests.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in software engineering.

• Strong expertise in backend development (Ruby, Node.js, or similar technologies).

• Comprehensive understanding of REST APIs, service contracts, and software design principles.

• Proven experience in designing and managing automated tests at unit, integration, and end-to-end levels.

• Familiarity with contemporary testing frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Cypress).

• Experience in building and managing services in AWS or equivalent cloud environments.

• Openness to participating in a mandatory 24/7 on-call rotation.

• Strong enthusiasm for AI-driven development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor).
