Staff Software Engineer, Quality Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +25 more states.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the development of infrastructure to ensure secure testing and deployment using CI/CD, temporary environments, and AI-enhanced testing and verification.

• Create AI workflows that generate test suites, scenarios, and verification artifacts under the supervision of engineering quality, assessments, and safeguards.

• Set cross-functional benchmarks to achieve feature-complete test coverage.

• Monitor CI time, flake rate, and critical-journey coverage; provide reports on these metrics and eliminate significant bottlenecks.

• Offer technical leadership across the platform team and four product teams.

• Engage in on-call duties and incident response for pipeline and test infrastructure.

• Serve as the escalation point when CI or environments experience failures, transforming incidents into enduring solutions.

• Foster alignment through written proposals and decision records with product and engineering teams.

• Guide engineers and elevate engineering standards through mentorship.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven engineer in developer infrastructure, test automation, or platform engineering.

• Demonstrated experience leading technical initiatives across multiple teams and influencing engineering standards through code reviews and documentation.

• Extensive knowledge of AWS, Terraform, Docker or Kubernetes, and Postgres.

• Proficient in working within a large Rails application alongside React and mobile clients.

• Experience in building and managing a CI/CD pipeline.

• Skilled in automated unit and end-to-end test coverage utilized by a complete engineering organization.

• In-depth experience with Playwright or a similar tool.

• Practical experience in developing systems for automated testing and CI for web, iOS, and Android platforms.

• Hands-on experience with coding agents and LLM tooling for test generation or verification.

• Knowledgeable about enhancing team adoption of coding agents and LLM tooling.

• Capable of articulating trade-offs between customer outcomes, delivery speed, technical health, and reliability in written form.

• Ability to thrive in a remote and asynchronous work environment.

• Competent in mentoring both senior and intermediate engineers.
