Staff Software Engineer, Python

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design the incrementality product into a dependable, repeatable experimentation platform.

• Establish the strategy for near-real-time data ingestion and processing that goes beyond batch workflows.

• Create frameworks for AI-driven workflows that assist marketers in assessing performance and acting on insights.

• Oversee connection-state systems and the partner ecosystem related to data ingestion and exports.

• Influence technical strategies in related product areas such as role-based access control (RBAC).

• Guide products from uncertainty through architecture to deployment and scalability.

• Collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and designers.

• Perform design reviews, mentor engineers, and elevate the quality of delivered work.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in designing and developing distributed backend systems, microservices, APIs, and/or data processing systems using Python.

• Extensive experience in system architecture ownership, including understanding trade-offs that arise at scale.

• Proven history of collaborating with product managers, designers, and data scientists to influence product development.

• Experience in startup environments or settings that require versatility, sound judgment, and problem-solving amidst ambiguity.

• Capability to transform uncertain product requirements into robust technical architecture and production-ready solutions.

• Proficiency in navigating complex datasets and interconnected tables.

• Hands-on frontend experience with React and TypeScript.

• Strong coding fundamentals, leveraging AI as a tool to enhance, rather than replace, core skills.

• A generalist approach with a readiness to engage across backend, frontend, pipelines, and infrastructure.

• Experience in mentoring engineers and enhancing team operations.
