Staff Software Engineer, GRC

📋 Description

• Identify, scope, and manage significant technical projects, establishing a foundation for developing highly efficient, reliable, and customizable systems with a long-term impact.

• Oversee a portfolio of intricate initiatives that span several quarters, ensuring iterative and sustainable influence across various product areas.

• Mobilize cross-functional teams to bring initiatives to fruition, even without direct oversight of team members.

• Make strategic choices that emphasize long-term success while shaping Vanta’s technical trajectory alongside senior engineers and leadership.

• Advocate for engineering excellence by persistently enhancing processes, methodologies, and technical practices throughout the organization.

• Counsel teams on challenging technical decisions, weighing trade-offs and reconciling conflicts.

• Tackle product, technical, and operational challenges with clear and impactful resolutions.

• Act as a cultural leader, exemplifying collaborative behaviors and mentoring engineers to enhance organizational performance.

⛳️ Requirements

• More than 10 years of industry experience with profound expertise in one or more technical domains (e.g., frontend, databases, distributed systems, APIs, AI, etc.)

• Demonstrated capability to lead intricate technical initiatives, steering strategic projects and refining organizational processes in fast-paced, dynamic settings.

• Proficient in system design and software architecture, with a strong ability to balance technical factors and execution constraints.

• Significant experience in developing user-facing SaaS products, serving both startup and enterprise clients.

• Expertise in creating 0→1 products and addressing large-scale challenges, particularly in environments that emphasize a bias for action.

• Strong leadership and mentorship experience, consistently elevating teams and leading by example.

• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence and advocate for technical decisions at all organizational levels.

• Open to leveraging AI to enhance their skills and improve their work—demonstrating curiosity, a willingness to learn, and sound judgment in applying AI responsibly to boost efficiency and impact.
