Staff Software Engineer, Customer Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of features from the design phase through implementation, rollout, and iterative improvements.

• Collaborate closely with Product Management and the Chainguard teams.

• Design, develop, and enhance backend systems using Go, which includes REST and gRPC APIs.

• Support entitlement, policy, and customer onboarding services.

• Act as the main technical liaison between the Customer Platform and the Containers, Libraries, and OS packages teams.

• Comprehend cross-team requirements and create integration pathways.

• Expand Chainguard's AI-driven foundation into customer-facing product experiences.

• Offer technical leadership and mentorship to both senior and mid-level engineers.

• Assist the team in clarifying ambiguities and working towards definitive outcomes.

• Contribute to the prioritization of a product-driven roadmap and iterative delivery.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in production-level Go development.

• Strong accountability in API design and large-scale backend systems.

• Proven experience in shipping and managing backend systems in a production environment.

• Experience collaborating across various engineering teams on technical standards, integration patterns, and shared infrastructure.

• Ability to navigate ambiguity and offer diagnoses, recommendations, and actionable paths forward.

• Demonstrated capability to mentor engineers and provide technical guidance without holding a management title.

• Familiarity with Kubernetes and cloud provider APIs is highly advantageous.

• Experience with entitlements, billing systems, or platform infrastructure is beneficial but not mandatory.

• Prior experience in building or enhancing AI-powered product features is a plus.
