Staff Software Engineer, Backend

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design, build, and enhance scalable, resilient, and high-performing backend services and APIs.

• Serve as a knowledgeable guide for the engineering team.

• Lead by example by addressing the most intricate technical challenges.

• Establish and uphold organization-wide best practices for system architecture, database schemas, automated testing, and observability.

• Collaborate closely with Product, Platform, and AI engineering teams to ensure architectural consistency.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in backend software engineering.

• Extensive expertise in designing distributed systems and modern APIs (REST, GraphQL).

• Proficient programming skills in contemporary backend languages (such as Python, Go, or similar).

• Proven experience in leading, training, and developing mid-level and junior engineers.

• Strong understanding of public cloud environments.

• Solid knowledge of modern data storage and processing, including relational databases, caching layers, and asynchronous messaging/event queues.

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
