This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Facilitate a comprehensive customer-facing Digital Experience platform, encompassing authentication, the API gateway, a unified data layer, fraud and identity management, and the application layer built on top.
• Design an outcome-driven delivery model for the Digital Experience Center of Excellence: link engineering investments to quantifiable customer and business results, assess impact post-launch, and prioritize platform initiatives based on the outcomes they enable.
• Establish technical direction, frameworks, and engineering standards for the Digital Experience Center of Excellence, collaborating with the Senior Software Engineer leading our internal Experience Center development.
• Tackle the most challenging design tasks, taking personal responsibility for the most critical and intricate systems.
• Remain actively involved as an individual contributor: write, review, and deploy production code; collaborate with engineers across both pillars; lead incident response for the most significant systems.
• Collaborate with our Enterprise Solution Architects on enterprise-level architectural decisions (auth and identity, API and integration strategy, data architecture, fraud, vendor selection) and advocate for Digital Experience engineering in those discussions.
• Design integrations with our core policy administration systems, fraud and identity providers, our internal generative AI platform, and our identity providers.
• Promote the use of AI-assisted coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Codex) at both the team and Center of Excellence levels, including the frameworks, safeguards, and reviews that ensure safe and productive AI-assisted development in regulated software.
• Mentor Software Engineers within both the Digital Experience and Experience Center pillars, serving as a technical career model for our individual contributor track.
• Set performance, reliability, security, and accessibility goals for the platform, and oversee the engineering practices that ensure compliance with these standards.
• Recognize, prioritize, and address technical debt, platform reuse, and developer productivity initiatives that enhance team velocity over time.
• Clearly communicate technical decisions, trade-offs, and risks to engineering leadership, product partners, and senior business and technology stakeholders.
• Over 10 years of professional software engineering experience, including significant time as a Staff or Principal individual contributor on a customer-facing product or platform.
• Proven experience in owning the architecture of a complex customer-facing system end-to-end on AWS, including serverless technologies (Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, CloudFront, S3, DynamoDB or RDS) and modern CI/CD practices.
• Strong, current working knowledge of Snowflake or a similar cloud data warehouse, with expertise in data modeling, performance optimization, and integration with application services.
• Regular, proficient use of AI-assisted coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent), with a history of guiding a team to adopt these tools in a safe and productive manner.
• Extensive experience in building and managing customer-facing digital products within a regulated industry (financial services, insurance, healthcare, or similar).
• A proven track record of establishing standards and architecture for a multi-engineer team and mentoring Software Engineers to advance their careers.
• Comfort in operating across functions with enterprise architecture, security, compliance, product, and design partners.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Competitive salary and annual incentive bonuses to acknowledge your contributions.
• 33 days of paid time off (including PTO, holidays, Volunteer Day, and days of significance).
• Paid parental leave after 90 days of service.
• Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance.
• 401(k) with company match, along with Profit Sharing & Savings Plan.
• Short- and Long-Term Disability Insurance for your peace of mind.
• Flexible Spending Accounts for medical and dependent care.
• Life Insurance to safeguard your loved ones.
• Educational assistance to foster your career development.
• Associate assistance programs for your personal and professional well-being.
