Staff Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the technical strategy and roadmap for Pura's comprehensive supply chain platform.

• Establish the technical direction and outline the architecture.

• Be responsible for the health and continuous improvement of the systems within your area.

• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders and executive leadership.

• Convert business requirements into effective technical solutions.

• Work alongside a small, high-impact engineering team, enhancing technical standards through design leadership, hands-on coding, and mentorship.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in backend engineering with a proven record of technical leadership across various teams or domains.

• Advanced proficiency in Golang and/or other contemporary backend programming languages (Node, Python, etc.).

• Extensive experience in designing and managing high-scale distributed systems, with a demonstrated ability to tackle complex and ambiguous challenges.

• Strong understanding of service-oriented architecture, API strategy, and event-driven architectures at scale.

• Expert knowledge of AWS (or a comparable cloud platform), including containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), CI/CD, and infrastructure as code.

• In-depth expertise in relational database design and optimization (PostgreSQL preferred), caching mechanisms (Redis, etc.), and scalable data modeling.

• Proven success in establishing standards for observability, monitoring, and operational excellence across engineering teams.

• Outstanding communication skills; capable of articulating complex technical trade-offs into clear recommendations for business and executive audiences.

• Experience in mentoring senior engineers and acting as a technical force multiplier.
