Staff Software Engineer

📋 Description

• Create and sustain the backend systems that drive the Foodsmart web application.

• Partner with front-end developers to design and implement APIs that effectively cater to front-end requirements.

• Establish and maintain development standards, including code reviews and thorough testing, to improve code quality and system performance.

• Collaborate closely with the product team to understand end-user needs, develop use cases, and convert those into a robust and efficient backend solution.

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to production, server-side, and databases.

• Proactively monitor and enhance system performance and scalability.

• Keep up-to-date with emerging technologies and suggest ways to incorporate them into current and future backend development initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8 - 10 years of demonstrated experience in backend development utilizing one or more widely-used programming languages, such as JavaScript, TypeScript, or Node.js.

• In-depth knowledge of RESTful APIs with experience in their design and implementation for optimal performance.

• Strong expertise in SQL databases, including relational databases like MySQL or PostgreSQL, as well as non-relational databases like DynamoDB. Experience with cloud data warehousing solutions such as Amazon Redshift is a plus.

• Significant experience developing functionalities using AWS services such as Lambda, SQS, RDS, and EC2.

• Familiarity with low-code development platforms like Retool is an advantage.

• Exposure to Docker and experience in working with applications in a container orchestration environment, such as Kubernetes.

• BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field.
