Staff Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hungary.

📋 Description

• Work collaboratively with product, design, technology, and data science teams.

• Join the backend platform team to create new backend services, processes, and components while enhancing existing ones.

• Take a leading role in reviewing code modifications within your team and offer constructive feedback to promote quality and best practices.

• Proactively assess technologies for applications and provide recommendations that align with team and product requirements.

• Mentor engineers at various levels, imparting your expertise in code maintainability, performance, reliability, observability, security, and functionality.

• Make a substantial contribution to project success and team efficiency.

• Act as a subject matter expert (SME) within the engineering organization, offering insights to cross-functional teams.

• Develop and manage solutions that deliver value across systems while managing technical debt.

• Collaborate closely with engineers, product owners, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on optimal solutions that fulfill product objectives.

• Champion a Test First approach and highlight the importance of quality at the code level.

• Assist in translating complex product requirements into clear, actionable technical tasks.

• Stay updated on technology trends and product roadmaps, providing strategic advice to the development team.

• Actively facilitate cross-functional business processes, promoting collaboration and communication.

• Partner with other senior-level stakeholders to ensure adherence to best practices, foster cross-team synergy, and maintain consistency in processes.

• Guide and support mid-level and junior engineers as they advance their technical skills and knowledge.

• Foster a culture of collaboration, establishing strong relationships built on mutual respect and shared objectives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related business field, along with eight (8) or more years of experience in Information Technology and solution delivery, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in similar areas is required.

• Proficiency in C#.

• Experience with .NET 8+.

• Knowledge of SQL.

• Familiarity with Git.

• Experience with Unit Testing.

• Understanding of RESTful web services.

• Knowledge of messaging and queuing systems.

• Experience with Docker.

• Proficiency in Microservice Data Architecture.

• MySQL experience (preferred).

• Postgres experience (preferred).

• Kubernetes experience (preferred).

• GraphQL experience (preferred).

• Data processing/ETL experience (preferred).

• Dapr experience (preferred).

• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) (preferred).
