Staff Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Take ownership and execute intricate architectural initiatives that span multiple teams.

• Evaluate the codebase for critical architectural challenges and develop actionable strategies.

• Articulate the architectural vision and effectively communicate it for significant segments of the codebase.

• Promote the adoption of innovative technologies to enhance performance and maintainability.

• Collaborate with product management and customer-facing teams to verify assumptions.

• Set coding standards, design patterns, and architectural best practices.

• Guide senior and staff engineers while improving testing and quality engineering standards.

• Spearhead cross-functional initiatives to deliver high-impact projects and ensure timely completion.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in software engineering with a focus on complex, cross-team architectural initiatives.

• Strong architectural knowledge to evaluate large codebases and pinpoint systemic challenges.

• Proficiency in Python, Vue.js, and TypeScript; knowledge of Bazel, C++, and/or Rust is advantageous.

• Subject matter expertise across various technical domains with the ability to navigate unfamiliar areas of the stack.

• Demonstrated capability to influence without direct authority and foster conviction among teams and leadership.

• Robust hands-on skills with the capacity to lead through example.

• Experience in establishing engineering standards and best practices at an organizational level.

• History of mentoring senior engineers and enhancing team performance.

• Strategic mindset with disciplined execution in project delivery.
