Staff Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead collaboration among engineering, product, design, and clinical/operations teams to ensure that technical decisions align with business and clinical objectives.

• Develop code across the entire technology stack (currently utilizing Ruby + Rails for the backend and Turbo/Tailwind for the frontend), focusing on the systems and abstractions that other engineers depend on.

• Make significant contributions to the engineering culture through process enhancements, documentation, standards, and fostering team well-being.

• Mentor and nurture senior engineers through pairing, code reviews, architecture discussions, and direct feedback—raising the overall standards without gatekeeping.

• Take ownership of complex, multi-team technical projects from inception to completion: from identifying problems and defining scopes to delivery and iteration, ensuring stakeholder alignment throughout the process.

• Clearly convey technical context to non-technical stakeholders—identify risks early, articulate trade-offs, and advocate for optimal solutions even if it requires shifting direction.

• Connect strategic technical direction with daily execution, ensuring that the team has the clarity and context needed to operate efficiently and effectively.

• You are passionate about enhancing behavioral health for children, teens, and their families.

• You possess significant professional software development experience, primarily in Ruby + Rails, with a proven history of delivering complex projects from start to finish.
