Staff Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Deliver technical expertise and leadership in analyzing requirements, designing, estimating efforts, developing, testing, and deploying highly scalable and secure distributed backend services.

• Collaborate with product management, architects, and other engineering teams to identify both expressed and latent needs, transforming them into functional and technical specifications.

• Uphold a strong awareness of business value and return on investment during planning, design, and communication phases.

• Facilitate technical design and architecture discussions, guiding technical decisions while balancing trade-offs related to technology, functionality, robustness, performance, and extensibility.

• Assess project scope and timelines, ensuring consistent delivery on commitments made.

• Mentor and coach team members, assisting them in resolving complex design challenges and conducting peer code reviews.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

• Over 6 years of professional experience in developing web-scale, highly available multi-tenant SaaS solutions, emphasizing backend platforms, frameworks, RESTful APIs, and microservices.

• Proficient in one or more object-oriented programming languages such as C#, Java, or C++.

• Strong foundation in computer science, including data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.

• Demonstrated experience in delivering and enhancing highly extensible, modular applications utilizing various extensibility models.

• Background as a technical lead for the design, architecture, and code review of highly scalable distributed systems and event-driven architectures.

• Proficient in SQL, No-SQL, data modeling, and transactional workflows.

• Experience in an Agile development setting.
