This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hungary.

• Standardize API development through automation and tooling to ensure the correct approach becomes the default.

• Define and refine API standards (OpenAPI) while enforcing them through automation, tooling, and CI/CD workflows.

• Create and maintain systems that automatically generate, validate, and enforce API specifications.

• Integrate AI into API development processes to enhance specification quality, ensure consistency, and improve documentation accuracy.

• Minimize custom implementations by offering shared patterns, libraries, and templates for API development.

• Enhance API consistency, discoverability, and usability across various services.

• Facilitate quicker internal and partner integrations through well-defined, reliable, and documented APIs.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to transition legacy or inconsistent APIs to standardized patterns.

• Develop shared libraries, SDKs, and tools that teams can utilize directly when creating APIs.

• 4+ years of experience in software engineering with responsibility for production systems.

• Strong backend development expertise in Ruby, Node.js, or similar technologies.

• Comprehensive understanding of REST APIs, service contracts, API design, and software design principles.

• Proven experience in designing and maintaining scalable, consistent, and maintainable APIs in production settings.

• Experience collaborating across backend services, APIs, and production systems.

• Familiarity with building and operating services in AWS or similar cloud environments.

• Good grasp of distributed systems, cloud-native architecture, and CI/CD practices.

• Willingness to participate in a required 24/7 on-call rotation.

• Experience with, or a strong interest in, AI-driven development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor).
