Senior Backend Developer – Specialist in Integrations, NFS-e

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain robust integrations via API (REST/SOAP) with web services from various municipal governments throughout Brazil.

• Architect and enhance batch billing routines, ensuring efficient asynchronous processing, effective queue management, resilience to network disruptions, and smart retries.

• Engage extensively with SQL Server databases. Analyze execution plans, optimize heavy queries, create/modify indexes, and ensure the database can handle high daily issuance volumes without bottlenecks.

• Convert complex municipal tax legislation into application logic and take a leading role in adapting our ERP to new scenarios and the implications of the Tax Reform on service sales.

• Investigate and resolve intricate integration issues in production, identifying performance bottlenecks or communication failures with external servers.

⛳️ Requirements

• PHP Seniority: A minimum of 5 years of proven and dedicated experience in PHP programming, with the capability to write clean, scalable, and maintainable code.

• Integration Expertise: Extensive experience in consuming and building APIs, managing complex payloads (JSON/XML), and communication patterns with government web services.

• SQL Server Mastery: Advanced knowledge beyond CRUD operations. Essential ability to optimize slow queries, understand data modeling, and indexing strategies for tables containing millions of records.

• Business and Taxation Knowledge: Demonstrated experience with NFS-e billing, municipal tax regulations (ISS, withholdings), and a clear understanding of how the Tax Reform influences service delivery scenarios.

• Cloud Architecture: Practical knowledge and prior experience working with cloud architectures and services to guarantee scalability and high availability.

• AI-assisted Development: Practical experience utilizing Artificial Intelligence tools to aid programming (e.g., Gemini CLI, Claude, GitHub Copilot, etc.), aimed at enhancing productivity, conducting code reviews, and pair-programming with AI.

• Best Practices and Versioning: Comprehensive expertise in Git and GitHub for version control, CI/CD pipelines, and code review.
