This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Architect, design, and develop RESTful API endpoints, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Collaborate closely with front-end engineers to create dynamic, responsive, and user-focused web applications that provide seamless user experiences.
• Define robust data models and database schemas while managing relational or NoSQL databases with a strong focus on data integrity and performance optimization.
• Oversee and guide AI coding agents throughout the delivery lifecycle, establishing context, reviewing outputs generated by agents, and enforcing SEPS delivery standards at every stage.
• Design and maintain agent workflows using agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) and the AI-native development framework, ensuring structured, auditable, and high-quality delivery.
• Configure and maintain prompt engineering patterns and structured output schemas, implementing rules and guardrails to align agent behavior with SEPS platform standards.
• Trace, debug, and address agent tool calls, prompt failures, and unexpected outputs, ensuring visibility into AI-assisted delivery at all phases.
• Create and maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for application architecture, design, configuration, and ongoing maintenance.
• Provide accurate task estimations and delivery timelines, aiding in effective sprint planning and execution.
• Participate in the on-call rotation, responding swiftly to production issues to ensure system stability and uptime.
• Mentor and support junior engineers, promoting a culture of AI-native working methods, learning, and continuous improvement.
• 8+ years of professional experience working with medium to large complex codebases.
• Experience in full-stack development.
• Proficiency in one or more of the following programming languages: Java, Go, or Python.
• Experience in designing and implementing REST APIs.
• Highly skilled in HTML, CSS, the JavaScript ecosystem, and familiar with popular frameworks like React, Angular, Ember, Jest, Babel, and TypeScript.
• Knowledgeable in UI/UX design principles.
• Demonstrated proficiency with AI-native coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot) as a primary means of delivery rather than as a productivity enhancement.
• Working knowledge of prompt engineering, context management, and structured output patterns.
• Familiarity with agent development concepts, including tool utilization, function calling, approvals, and workflow chaining.
• Awareness of secure AI coding practices, including prompt injection, sandbox basics, and access control.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A desire to collaborate and foster strong, positive team relationships.
• Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, a solid work ethic, and the ability to work independently.
