Staff Software Development Engineer, L5

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions throughout the entire stack, encompassing both backend services and user-facing UI components.

• Create and maintain backend services and APIs using Java and JavaScript; develop and sustain front-end features utilizing Angular or other contemporary web application frameworks.

• Utilize SQL and Snowflake for data querying, transformation, and analysis; contribute to the data ingestion and transformation pipelines that support the Real World Data platform.

• Employ AI-driven development tools and methodologies to enhance delivery speed, elevate code quality, and address complex engineering challenges; keep abreast of new technologies and trends in front-end development.

• Assist with code reviews, testing, and release processes; foster a culture of engineering excellence and ongoing improvement.

• Establish direction and objectives for the team concerning project impact, product quality, and engineering efficiency; lead significant initiatives, rollouts, and phased releases.

• Mentor onboarding team members, facilitating their successful ramp-up.

• Engage in an on-call rotation to address critical issues outside of standard business hours, ensuring prompt response and resolution according to defined SLAs.

• Uphold compliance with Inovalon's policies, procedures, and mission statement.

• Follow all confidentiality and HIPAA regulations as specified in Inovalon's Operating Policies and Procedures at all times regarding any aspect of the data handled or services provided in this role.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in software engineering, showcasing full-stack development expertise across backend services and modern UI frameworks is essential.

• At least 5 years of practical experience in Java and/or JavaScript is required; familiarity with .NET, Python, or Go is advantageous.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience with contemporary front-end frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue.js is required; Angular is strongly preferred.

• Strong SQL skills are required; experience with Snowflake is a plus.

• Significant experience with AWS is required; knowledge of GCP or Microsoft Azure is a plus.

• Experience with open-source frameworks, RESTful API design, and integrating front-end applications with backend systems is necessary.

• Familiarity with distributed systems, microservice architectures, and CI/CD pipelines is required.

• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is required.

• Experience in applying AI-driven development tools and practices in a production engineering environment is preferred.
