Staff Software Development Engineer – Application Architecture

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Lead the transformation of legacy monolithic components into cloud-compatible services and modular architectures.

• Balance immediate delivery requirements with long-term goals for architectural sustainability and modernization.

• Establish and communicate a well-defined CAS North Star Architecture, outlining the target platform, core principles, reference patterns, and a phased migration strategy from legacy systems to the future state.

• Design a cloud-ready, hybrid-capable platform that facilitates the coexistence of on-premises and cloud workloads during the migration, ensuring clear service boundaries and integration agreements.

• Create backend services utilizing modern technology stacks (e.g., .NET, Java, Node.js) with an emphasis on clean architecture, testability, and distinct separation of concerns.

• Engage in incident analysis and lead architectural improvements to mitigate future occurrences.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of software engineering experience with a significant impact on a large scale.

• Demonstrated experience in leading application architecture within large, intricate enterprise systems.

• Strong practical knowledge of at least one modern backend stack (.NET, Java, Node.js) and distributed system architecture.

• Extensive experience in designing APIs, integrations, and data-driven systems.

• Solid understanding of cloud-ready architectures, CI/CD processes, and secure software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices.

• Exceptional communication and influencing skills across various organizational levels.
