
Staff Rust Engineer β Core Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Enhance Real-Time Infrastructure: Develop high-performance, memory-safe, and concurrent production code using Rust.
β’ Improve model serving infrastructure to attain ultra-low inference latency under significant concurrent request loads.
β’ Create low-latency data ingestion systems, microservices, and network protocols for processing real-time behavioral streams.
β’ Develop Core Architectural Tooling: Design and sustain robust, high-throughput backend APIs and SDKs.
β’ Implement tailored abstractions, caching layers, and memory management profiles to optimize hardware efficiency.
β’ Transition data-heavy bottlenecks from higher-overhead languages to highly optimized Rust components.
β’ Ensure Reliability and Scale: Take ownership of the complete lifecycle of core backend infrastructure components.
β’ Troubleshoot complex distributed system deadlocks, race conditions, and production bottlenecks in cloud environments.
β’ Establish thorough performance benchmarking, regression testing, and real-time system monitoring.
β’ Collaborate on Product Evolution: Work directly with Applied Scientists to translate recent advancements in neural networks and ranking models into scalable runtime implementations.
β’ Define best practices for constructing secure, scalable, and deterministic system architectures across our engineering organization.
β’ 6 to 8+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Systems Programming, Infrastructure Engineering, or a related field.
β’ Extensive professional experience in writing and deploying production-grade Rust code within high-scale systems.
β’ Profound understanding of Rust-specific features, including ownership, lifetimes, concurrency models, and asynchronous runtimes like Tokio.
β’ Experience in building robust backend systems, custom APIs, and event-driven architectures.
β’ Proficient in debugging, profiling, and managing high-throughput production systems under stringent real-world constraints.
β’ Ability to navigate ambiguity with a strong sense of technical ownership while balancing engineering speed and quality.
β’ At this stage, the efficiency and speed of our core infrastructure directly influence the performance of our product for global-scale consumer enterprises.
