Staff Quant Strategist Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France.

📋 Description

• Analyzing and validating the economic framework of Aave products, which encompasses yield mechanics, rate dynamics, risk parameters, and scenario evaluations.

• Collaborating with engineering and product teams to assist in the design of innovative products and protocol mechanisms.

• Aiding in growth-related decisions where quantitative insights are essential, including asset listings, incentive structures, and partner economics.

• Developing tools and dashboards that enable quantitative reasoning to be a shared skill across the organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• A robust quantitative foundation, with familiarity in stochastic processes, optimization, simulation, and statistical modeling.

• Extensive knowledge of DeFi, including a clear understanding of how lending markets, AMMs, and rate models function, alongside experience in identifying failure modes such as liquidations, depegs, oracle issues, and MEV.

• Engineering skills that allow you to prototype your own models and effectively read or contribute to Solidity, facilitating meaningful collaboration with smart contract engineers.

• Strong communication abilities to articulate quantitative work to non-quantitative stakeholders, including founders, partners, growth, and product teams, while maintaining analytical rigor. You are adept at engaging in commercial discussions and can influence them with quantitative insights rather than merely responding to inquiries.

• A proactive approach to delivering results, viewing models as tools for decision-making rather than academic exercises. You produce work that informs development decisions.

• Preferred: Published research or articles related to DeFi economics, market microstructure, or similar fields.

• Experience with formal methods, agent-based simulation, or mechanism design.

• A background in contributing to open-source DeFi protocols.

• Familiarity with operating in cross-functional settings where engineering intersects with growth or business development.
