Staff QA Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design and implement automated processes for building Egnyte software packages intended for deployment in production environments.

• Develop automated tools for provisioning build and test environments on cloud platforms to facilitate internal development and QA operations.

• Create deployment solutions tailored for QA, staging, and production environments.

• Build and sustain tools that manage the delivery of on-premise services to customers, such as server restarts and software updates.

• Contribute to development processes, focusing on improvements to build procedures, testing frameworks, verification tools, and packaging.

• Provide tools and automation workflows designed to enhance software developer productivity.

• Assist in defining process models and toolsets to support the adoption of DevOps methodologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the Linux operating system, including configuring subsystems like storage, networking, and file systems.

• In-depth knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git, Puppet, Ansible, and Terraform, with practical experience in implementing automated branching, build, test automation, and deployment pipelines.

• Proven experience in writing and debugging system-level scripts using Python and Bash.

• Familiarity with Linux packaging tools like apt and automated package update processes.

• Understanding of Windows OS internals, along with experience in QA automation on Windows platforms.

• Capability to collaborate with multi-cultural, globally distributed teams towards a unified product vision and effectively coordinate with cross-functional teams across different time zones.

• A strong commitment to delivering enterprise-grade products to customers and a continuous drive to work with the engineering team to enhance the product in real-world applications.

• Experience in utilizing AI tools to develop skills, hooks, and scheduling functionalities.
