Senior QA Automation Engineer – Playwright

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Qatar.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of comprehensive quality assurance processes, encompassing test strategy, test case creation, and acceptance validation.

• Execute manual and exploratory testing for new functionalities in rapidly evolving (greenfield) settings where early automation may not be feasible.

• Systematically design, develop, and sustain automated test suites for established functionalities, which include UI, API, integration, and end-to-end testing.

• Establish and uphold a regression testing methodology, beginning with manual smoke testing and progressing to automated regression coverage concentrating on high-risk areas such as authentication, number purchasing, porting, and billing.

• Carry out API and integration testing with external systems, including carrier platforms, ServiceNow, billing APIs, and Cognito authentication processes.

• Incorporate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to ensure ongoing quality validation.

• Collaborate with Business Analysts to clarify and validate acceptance criteria.

• Record, monitor, and manage defects until resolution.

• Assist in stabilization phases and user acceptance testing (UAT) cycles to guarantee production readiness.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience in QA engineering, encompassing both manual and automated testing.

• Strong practical experience in UI test automation utilizing Playwright.

• Solid background in API testing with tools such as Postman and/or JavaScript/TypeScript-based frameworks.

• Comprehensive experience in manual and exploratory testing, coupled with effective test design skills.

• Good familiarity with microservices architectures and principles of integration testing.

• Experience in working with CI/CD pipelines and the integration of automated test suites.

• Proficiency in JavaScript / TypeScript for developing test automation.

• English language proficiency: Upper-Intermediate (B2) or higher.

• Nice to have: Knowledge or hands-on experience with performance or load testing.

• Experience with contract testing tools such as Pact and/or event-driven testing (Kafka-based systems).

• Experience in testing authentication and SSO processes (e.g., AWS Cognito, OIDC).

• Exposure to the telecom, CPaaS, or UCaaS sectors.

• Awareness of principles related to security testing.

• Familiarity with test management tools such as Jira Xray or TestRail.
