This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Define the long-term vision, strategy, roadmap, and success metrics for Datavant’s Legal & Insurance sector.
• Transform a complex and fragmented market into a unified product strategy encompassing requester experience, retrieval workflows, fulfillment, integrations, and record analysis.
• Design the product architecture for a new sector, including workflows, data models, platform capabilities, partner integrations, and AI-driven experiences.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to assess opportunities, establish priorities, guide investment decisions, and align the organization around the most impactful initiatives.
• Create scalable products for attorneys, copy services, insurers, and other requesters across both enterprise and small/mid-sized customer segments.
• Engage deeply with engineering, data science, analytics, operations, design, and commercial teams to transition from strategy to execution.
• Identify where operational friction can evolve into product capability and where custom workflows should develop into scalable platform patterns.
• Develop AI-enhanced tools that assist users in extracting, summarizing, structuring, and acting on insights from complex medical records.
• Establish the metrics, feedback loops, and operating rhythms essential for enhancing retrieval speed, completeness, transparency, quality, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
• Act as a product thought leader for the sector and mentor other PMs, elevating standards for product strategy, systems thinking, customer insight, and execution.
• 8–12+ years of experience in product management, with a proven record of leading complex, enterprise-grade, data-centric products.
• Proven ability to define product strategy in ambiguous environments and influence the direction of the company, beyond merely delivering a roadmap.
• Experience in building products that integrate workflow, data, integrations, operations, and user experience into scalable systems.
• Strong systems thinking: capable of understanding complex, real-world workflows and translating them into straightforward, sustainable product architecture.
• Experience working with healthcare data, data exchange, retrieval, workflow automation, platform products, or regulated data products.
• Bonus points for experience in legal, insurance, medical record retrieval, claims, risk adjustment, clinical data, or AI-driven document analysis.
• Comfort in designing products in highly regulated, high-stakes environments where accuracy, timeliness, compliance, privacy, and trust are paramount.
• Strong technical fluency and credibility with engineering, data science, and analytics teams.
• Ability to leverage data, customer insights, and business judgment to make challenging prioritization and investment decisions.
• Executive-level communication skills: capable of distilling complexity, framing trade-offs, and influencing senior leaders, technical teams, operations teams, and commercial stakeholders.
• You create clarity, elevate the strategic perspective of the team, mentor others, and still take initiative to ensure important work is completed successfully.
• Entrepreneurial mindset: you excel in ambiguity, learn rapidly, make practical trade-offs, and generate momentum even when the path forward is unclear.
