
Staff Product Engineer – Backend, Revenue Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the metering pipeline by designing, constructing, and enhancing systems that accurately track every billable event without drift, delay, or loss.
• Expand the Stripe integration to include subscription management, usage record reporting, invoice lifecycle management, and recovery from edge cases.
• Develop and sustain cloud marketplace integrations across AWS, Azure, and GCP marketplace entitlement systems.
• Deliver customer-facing usage dashboards and cost forecasting tools for real-time visibility into spending.
• Enhance billing alerts and notifications to address anomalies, usage spikes, and budget thresholds.
• Establish architectural patterns, design and testing standards, and practices for reliability.
• Guide engineers in billing architecture through code reviews, design discussions, and direct mentorship.
• Influence the revenue engineering product roadmap and set architectural patterns as the technical authority.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in backend engineering.
• Significant ownership experience with a production billing or metering system.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Stripe, including webhooks, usage records, subscription state machines, reconciliation, and troubleshooting edge cases.
• Strong proficiency in Go or Java is highly advantageous.
• Experience in designing distributed systems at scale.
• Capability to clearly reason about reliability, consistency, trade-offs, and failure modes.
• A product-oriented mindset focused on billing accuracy, customer payments, and building trust.
• Demonstrated ownership at the staff level with the ability to pinpoint systemic issues.
• Experience with cloud marketplace billing on AWS Marketplace, Azure Marketplace, or GCP Marketplace is a plus.
• Familiarity with OpenTelemetry and the broader observability ecosystem is a plus.
• Background in usage-based or consumption pricing models in a SaaS context is a plus.
