Staff Product Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Develop the interfaces that enable marketers to engage with AI agents — including conversational flows, agentic workflows, and user interfaces that simplify complex reasoning while instilling trust.

• Take full ownership of the product layer from start to finish: overseeing activation flows that attract new users, interaction patterns that encourage repeat visits, and feedback mechanisms that enhance AI performance over time.

• Determine the appropriate strategies for making an AI strategy layer clear and beneficial within a modern SaaS product — with no established guidelines, you will help create them.

• Engage in full-stack development when necessary — addressing issues in the API, data layer, or AI integration — without hindering team efficiency.

• Approach growth with a product management mindset: identifying user drop-off points, forming insights on healthy usage patterns, and modifying your work based on data-driven findings.

• Advocate for product and design interests across teams, challenging decisions that compromise quality, and establishing credibility to ensure your voice is heard.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in high-performing product teams at scaleups — in environments where the engineering culture was cultivated by engineers rather than imposed as a process.

• A solid foundation in frontend technologies (Next.js / React) with a proven ability to work full-stack as needed — you prioritize the work over strict role definitions.

• Practical experience in developing AI-driven product surfaces in production: including agentic systems, LLM integrations, conversational interfaces, or retrieval-augmented workflows — along with the product intuition to ensure they are perceived as trustworthy rather than merely functional.

• Experience in assessing and enhancing AI output quality — through evaluation frameworks, feedback loops, or refining prompts and retrieval methods. You understand what high-quality reasoning looks like beyond simple retrieval.

• A PM-oriented perspective on activation and retention. You have analyzed usage data and made adjustments to your projects because it concerned you that users were not returning.

• Possess strong product and design intuition to advocate for these interests in the absence of a PM or designer. You have successfully challenged poor product decisions multiple times and have established a reputation for being right often enough that others listen.

• Self-sufficient and proactive. You take responsibility for outcomes rather than just tasks and maintain transparency regarding what is effective and what is not.
