Staff Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design and manage the implementation of Windows Server solutions, including Configuration Manager (SCCM), Group Policy, and security hardening based on CIS standards.

• Establish and uphold best practices for patch management, deployment of server software, and remediation of disk space issues.

• Lead efforts in troubleshooting and conducting root cause analysis for intricate infrastructure challenges.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that infrastructure capabilities align with business requirements.

• Ensure adherence to CIS benchmarks and internal security protocols.

• Monitor system health and performance, proactively addressing potential risks and inefficiencies.

• Promote automation and process enhancements to minimize manual effort and boost reliability.

• Contribute to the planning of the infrastructure roadmap and assist in capacity forecasting.

• Work alongside leadership to assess emerging technologies and propose strategies for their adoption.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 12 years of experience in platform engineering.

• Expertise in Ansible automation, particularly in crafting playbooks and roles for patching, reporting, and orchestration.

• More than 7 years of experience in Windows Server engineering, encompassing SCCM, Active Directory, and Group Policy Objects (GPO).

• Strong understanding of the Vulnerability Management Lifecycle and planning for remediation.

• In-depth knowledge of AWS and Azure infrastructure.

• Proficient in scripting languages such as Powershell and YAML.

• Advanced knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.

• Extensive experience in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, CodePipeline, or similar.

• Familiarity with version control systems such as GIT, Bitbucket, or Team Foundation Server.

• Proficient in Systems and IT operations, including administration of both Windows and Linux operating systems.

• Understanding of networking principles and technologies, including DNS, Load Balancers, and Reverse Proxies.
