This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Define and lead the technical architecture and engineering roadmap for application platforms.
• Design and deploy cloud-native platform solutions for enterprise-scale claims data ingestion, transformation, storage, governance, and consumption.
• Provide technical guidance for data streaming and event-driven architectures utilizing Kafka, CDC, and cloud-native messaging patterns.
• Oversee the design and optimization of data lake and transformation solutions leveraging AWS S3, AWS Glue, Spark, and associated services.
• Establish engineering standards and best practices for application development, API design, microservices, cloud infrastructure, data modeling, security, and platform reliability.
• Guide the development of secure and scalable APIs and microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and AWS-native services.
• Collaborate effectively with Product, Architecture, Security, Infrastructure, and Business stakeholders.
• Promote operational excellence in areas such as availability, resiliency, observability, performance, scalability, disaster recovery, and production support.
• Conduct architecture reviews, design assessments, and technical risk evaluations.
• Mentor and nurture engineering talent across Technology Platform Engineering and Software Engineering teams.
• Over 7 years of experience in software design and development for enterprise data platform applications, cloud-native architectures, and Agile methodologies.
• More than 5 years of experience with public cloud platforms and cloud-native solutions.
• At least 5 years of experience in designing, implementing, and supporting data streaming, processing, and/or transformation solutions.
• 3+ years of experience with both relational and non-relational databases, including Amazon Aurora, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cosmos DB, or Microsoft SQL Server.
• Proficient in designing scalable schemas, data models, and storage strategies.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in production operations support and observability platform tools.
• Preferred experience with AWS S3, Glue, Spark, Aurora PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Kafka, CDC, microservices, APIs, DevOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, observability, and reliability engineering.
• Working knowledge of healthcare data domains and familiarity with HIPAA, PHI, and healthcare regulatory requirements is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
